(KMOV) -- Overland police officer Andrew Ringeisen was charged in March with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly pushing a man down a flight of stairs. The victim, Kenneth Hamilton suffered head injuries and died several days later.
The City of Overland has now commissioned Federal Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Sr. to participate in an internal investigation of the events surrounding the death of Hamilton.
Acting Police Chief Mike Laws said in a news release, "We are committed to conducting a fair and thorough investigation of these events and we believe that Judge Limbaugh can assist us in preserving this commitment."
