High-speed motorcycle crash in south St. Louis kills 21-year-old man

(KMOV) -- A 21-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle accident Friday evening in south St. Louis. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Chouteau Ave. and Dillon Dr. near downtown.

According to police, Brandon Silvers of the 3200 block of W. Tennyson was driving a 1997 Suzuki GS6 eastbound on Chouteau Ave. when he ran into a 1998 BMW. Witnesses say that the motorcycle was going at a high rate of speed when it crashed. Upon impact, Silvers flew off of the motorcycle and landed on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 50-year-old driver of the BMW was not hurt.
