Mo. man guilty of killing wife found in concrete

CAMDENTON, Mo. (AP) -- A southwest Missouri man whose wife's body was found by a road encased in concrete has been convicted in her death.

A jury took about one hour Friday to find Horst Gunter Sabla of Lebanon, Mo., guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The trial had been moved from Laclede County to Camden County.

Hunters found the body of Sharon Sabla in November 2008 in a box filled with lime and concrete. The box weighed about 500 pounds.

Detectives said Horst Sabla told them he had shot his wife in the head about four months earlier and kept the body in the box in his trailer home for a few weeks. He later added the concrete and lime and dumped the box on a roadside near Lebanon.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
