(KMOV) -- An accident in south St. Louis has left one driver dead and the other in serious condition.
It happened around 3:20 a.m. on Friday at the intersection of Grand and Gravois in south St. Louis.
Witnesses tell St. Louis police that a driver in a Ford Taurus was driving westbound on Gravois approaching Grand at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle crossed Grand, the driver lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Mercury Sable.
The driver of the Taurus, Michael Brooks, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 55-year-old driver of the Sable was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
A local Walgreens security camera captured video of the crash. Police are using that video in their investigation.
