(KMOV) -- How well could you hear a police siren if you were cruising down the road with your windows up and a cell phone to your ear? The tragic accident that killed Officer David Haynes inspired News 4 to find out.
Police say a couple of weeks ago, the officer's lights and siren were on when two cars struck his cruiser as he went through an intersection.
News 4's Russell Kinsaul put a police siren to the test to see if distracted drivers and quiet cars are drowning out the sound of emergency vehicles.
