(KMOV) -- Homeowners believe that a wet ground and strong winds are why a tree crashed into their house on Tuesday.
This happened just outside of St. Charles City limits around 7 p.m.
The homeowners say they were in the kitchen when they heard a loud crash. A century-old Oak tree fell into the side of their home, and was so powerful that it cracked the granite countertops in the kitchen.
There were no reports of injuries.
