(KMOV) -- A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot inside a vehicle on Saturday night in the 7800 block of Dennis Drive.

According to police, two men were sitting in a silver 1997 Buick Park Avenue when they started arguing, which led to a gunfire exchange.

Police say they believe the shooting was drug-related. Police spokesman Rick Eckhard said the vehicle was not stolen, but did not belong to either men involved in the shooting. "Both men were inside the car having some sort of transaction," said Eckhard.

The victim, 19-year-old Victor Pierce of the 10000 block of Lakemoor Drive, was pronounced dead on the scene. The other man in the car was also shot, got out of the car and tried to run off, but collapsed near the Dellwood Market from the gunshot wound. That man was taken to a hospital for treatment, had surgery last night, and is expected to survive.

Detectives plan to interview the other man involved to get more details on the shooting before deciding whether to seek charges.

"We haven't even talked to him yet," Eckhard said. "We can only speculate that it appears that they both shot each other."
