(KMOV)-- Seven people were injured after a two-level balcony collapsed in the middle of a barbecue.

This happened around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 2700 block of Accomac in south St. Louis.

All seven victims were transported to local hospitals. As of Thursday, two of the victims were in fair condition at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The other five were released.

Officials said that four people were on the top level of the deck and three were below when the entire porch collapsed. One witness said that one man ended up in the home's basement, while others were slammed and struck with the pieces of the wooded deck.

Fire officials said that the deck's wood has visible signs of wear and decay; they said they are just glad everyone survived.
