CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Police say a 4-year-old Champaign girl was killed when her mother backed the family's car over the girl in their driveway.
Deputy Police Chief Troy Daniels said Madison Bezich-Vidimos died at a local hospital Friday morning.
Daniels said 46-year-old Colleen Bezich-Miller had just backed her Chevrolet Suburban out of the driveway Friday to take an older son to school when she noticed her daughter seriously injured. Investigators say Madison was apparently supposed to have been inside the house with her 14-year-old brother.
Daniels said the little girl's death appeared to be a tragic accident.
