(BaseballStL) -- The Texas Rangers may have to play Game 7 without two of their more productive players against the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.
Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz was taken out of the Game 6 loss after his at-bat in the 11th due to a strained quad.
Cruz said after the game that it was just “tight” and he will be ready to play Game 7 on Friday night. Manager Ron Washington told reporters the team will wait until today to see how significant the injury is before making any decision.
Cruz also blasted a record-tying eighth home run of the postseason in Game 6. Cruz tied Barry Bonds and Carlos Beltran for most home runs in a single postseason.
Rangers catcher Mike Napoli had x-rays taken on his left ankle that revealed no break after severely turning the ankle in the 4th inning after sliding into second base in Game 6. Napoli remained in the game. There is no word on the availability of Napoli for Game 7 yet.
Napoli is hitting .375 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in the World Series.
