(KMOV) -- A US Army solider who fought in Afghanistan was surprised with unbelievable tickets to see the World Series game Thursday evening.
US Army soldier Kyle Woodard was on leave from the war in Afghanistan when he decided to come home for the World Series;on his way home, he received an amazing surprise.
On the plane ride to Saint Louis Woodard says he met a guy who was giving away World Series tickets and he landed first row seats.
Woodard says he has been a fan of the Cardinals since he was a little boy and couldn't believe his luck.
Woodard has already completed two tours in Afghanistan and is home for a month; after that time he will return back to Afghanistan.
For now, Woodard says his unbelievable luck is, 'literally a dream come true.'
