ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – The man who admitted killing a St. Louis police officers during a pursuit has been sentenced to prison.
The 20-year sentence was handed down Thursday afternoon before a packed courtroom.
Sheldon Beckham, 23, pleaded guilty for his part in the deadly police chase in March of 2010. Officer David Haynes, 27, was killed when his patrol car crashed during the pursuit.
In September 2011, Beckham entered a guilty plea for second degree murder.
