ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) -- Searchers are looking for a hiker who reported himself lost in Rocky Mountain National Park, where more than 18 inches of new snow have fallen.
Rangers began looking for 22-year-old Andrew Lund of Branson, Missouri Wednesday after he called to say he was taking shelter under a large boulder. They resumed the search on Thursday.
Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said rangers were able to make hourly cell phone contact with Lund through Wednesday afternoon but then were unable to reach him again. He told rangers he thought he was somewhere near a lake that's near the popular Bear Lake Trailhead.
Authorities are trying to trace the location of his cell phone but say his phone doesn't appear to have that capability.
