ST. LOUIS (AP/KMOV) -- More than 12 years after Mark Raiffie was killed while working at his St. Louis vending business, a suspect is now facing murder charges.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 36-year-old Willie McNeil is charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in the 1999 death of Raiffie. A tipster who contacted Crime Stoppers provided the information that led police to McNeil.
McNeil was extradited back to Missouri on warrants for first degree murder, first degree assault, first degree robbery and three counts of armed criminal action that were issued on October 25, 2011.
Prosecutors aren't saying if any other suspects are being sought.
Police said McNeil told officers he and others went to rob Raiffie Vending Co. on May 24, 1999. He told officers that another suspect shot Raiffie and beat him with a baseball bat.
The suspects got away with about $2,000.
It was not clear Wednesday if Raiffie had an attorney.
