(AP) -- Infielder Skip Schumaker and pitcher Jake Westbrook have been added to the St. Louis Cardinals' World Series roster.

Schumaker missed the NL championship series after straining his right oblique in the first round against Philadelphia. He had a cortisone injection to aid his recovery.

Before Wednesday's opener, St. Louis removed pitcher Kyle McClellan, who pitched one-third of an inning in the NLCS, and rookie outfielder Adron Chambers.
