(KMOV) -- Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn is reporting that the death investigation of two Edwardsville, Illinois residents has progressed and is now able to release the identities of both individuals.
Coroner Nonn is identifying the decedents as: 48-year-old Marwa A. Heneidi and 53-year-old Khalil M. Mikhayel.
Both Heneidi and Mikhayel were pronounced dead on October 17, 2011 around 5:20 a.m. at Heneidi's residence located in the 110 block of Fox Hill Court in Belleville, Illinois.
Decedent Heneidi and decedent Mikhayel were married for about 14 years.
Autopsies were conducted on Tuesday October 18, and it was revealed that Heneidi died from blunt trauma to the head and stabbing. Decedent Mikhayel came to his death as the result of self-inflicted cutting wounds.
No final ruling as to manner of death will be prescribed pending completion of background investigation by the Detective Division of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department as well as routine toxicological testing with correlation of these findings with the decedents’ injuries and pathological findings.
