(KMOV) -- Police are investigating after a number of cars were broken into at a hotel near Lambert Airport and at a Florissant steakhouse early Tuesday morning.
The car break-ins near Lambert happened at the Homestead Studio Suites Hotel located at the intersection of Lindbergh and Lone Eagle in Bridgeton, Missouri just after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say seven to eight cars were broken into, witnesses on the scene say at least a dozen cars, trucks and SUV's have shattered windows on the hotel lot.
All of the cars that were broken into appear to be ransacked; in each case items were found scattered on the seats and on the ground around the vehicles.
Bridgeton Police left notices on the seats of cars for owners who's vehicles were vandalized with a number to call for help.
Authorities say the break-ins are under investigation and did not comment further on the incidences.
Also, in Florissant, thieves broke into 15 cars at Brewsky's Steakhouse. Police say the theives took cell phones and other small electronics that were left behind.
