(KMOV) -- St. Louis City Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a Subway restaurant in the Central West End late Monday evening.

The robbery took place at the Subway located in the 110 block of North Euclid Avenue just after 11:00 p.m. Monday.

Police say the suspect walked into the restaurant armed with a silver handgun and demanded money.

When the suspect announced the robbery the cashier ran to the back of the store to alert the manager of the situation.

Moments after the employee ran to the back of the store, the suspect jumped over the counter and forced both the manager and the store employee to come back to the front of the store and open the cash register.

Authorities say the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene shortly after the robbery.

Surveillance video captured the entire robbery as it unfolded.

Police are in the process of reviewing the video for more information regarding the suspect and the robbery.

No one has been reported as injured in this robbery.

An investigation is currently underway.
