(BaseballStL) -- The Texas Rangers will start C.J. Wilson against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday.

Wilson is 0-2 with an 8.04 ERA in three postseason starts this year.  Batters are hitting .318 against the left-hander during the postseason.

Wilson started a career-high 34 games and went 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA during the regular season in 2011.  In his final 10 regular season games, he went 6-2 with a 1.89 ERA.

Wilson has pitched in one career World Series game which resulted in a loss despite only allowing two runs on three hits in six innings pitched.
