(KMOV) – For the first time, the annual Taste of St. Louis weekend will not be held in the downtown area next summer.
The Taste of St. Louis 2014 will be held in Chesterfield’s Central Park and Chesterfield Amphitheater, September 19-21. The new location will for the first time include a permanent, stadium-style performance stage to showcase culinary talent from across St. Louis and around the country, enhancing the visitor experience.
In the event’s press release, the festival will focus on food and attracting more mainstream network chefs and restaurants showcased on the Food Network, Cooking Channel and Bravo.
This year, the event will also include a more geographically-diverse Restaurant Row, featuring dozens of restaurants from St. Louis, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Southern Illinois and beyond, giving everyone the opportunity to taste the best of what the region has to offer.
Admission to the festival area will remain free and tickets will be available for VIP seating at select events. The amphitheater would also allow for admission tickets to be sold and checked for those select events, which will help with revenue to attract bigger names in the culinary world.
