Maplewood police asking for public input during assessment

(KMOV) –Police in Maplewood are inviting the public to comment during an accreditation assesment at the end of March.

 Maplewood police chief Stephn Kruse announced Monday that a team of assessors will arive Sunday, March 30, to examine all aspects of the Maplewood Police Department’s policies, procedures, operations and support services.

Chief Kruse said that the “Maplewood Police Department has to comply with 188 standards in order to gain accredited status”.

Members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, April 1 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Maplewood City Hall.

If an individual cannot attend the session but would like to make a comment they may call (314) 502-0006 on Tuesday, April 1, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
