(KMOV.com) – City officials say a winter storm that hit the St. Louis area on Sunday had crews working extra hard to clean up the mess left from Mardi Gras celebrations in Soulard.
The St. Louis Streets Department told News 4 its biggest concern was cleaning the trash left behind by those attending the Mardi Gras Parade. Officials were afraid the storm could cause the unpicked up garbage to stay behind for a long time.
“It's more about getting the litler up, can you imagine if we didn't get the litter up and then all this snow falls on it, it will be caked and encapsulated in there. We would have trash down there for weeks,” St. Louis Streets Department’s Todd Waelterman said.
