2 Hospitalized after head-on vehicle collision in Waterloo

(KMOV) – A head-on collision occurred on Illinois 156 east of Waterloo when a vehicle swerved into the opposite lane and smashed into an oncoming vehicle on Thursday.

Authorities say two people, a man and a woman, were involved in the accident. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It was reported the male driver suffered a serious head injury and the woman broke her ankle. It is not believed either injury is life threatening.

Police say it is still unclear what caused the car to swerve into the opposite lane.

The investigation is on-going.
