(KMOV) – Two gas leaks forced the evacuation of the main campus of the Missouri University of Science and Technology for a couple hours Wednesday morning.
Students and staff were evacuated after a gas line break was detected in Straunamis-James Hall at 10:12 a.m. forcing the evacuation of several nearby buildings.
At 10:37 a.m. a second gas leak was suspected at a different building forcing the evacuation of the entire main campus.
Power was disconnected to several campus buildings including the Computer Science Building which houses the campus web servers. The university’s main campus sites were unavailable during the outage.
At 12:10 p.m. the all clear was given and the campus was opened.
