(KMOV) -- – A 34-year-old Ballwin woman is accused of letting friends cook crystal meth in her neighbors' home while she was supposed to be house-sitting,
According to charging documents, in September, Lauren Stephens was asked to watch her neighbors' Sunfield Place house and cat while they were on vacation.
Police say she then let two acquaintances inside the house to cook meth and is accused of buying the Pseudoephedrine at a local Walgreen's for her visitors.
Stephens, an admitted meth user, said they agreed to give her a portion of the cook as payment.
An environmental cleanup and restoration company later determined that the meth manufacturing had rendered the home's entire first floor useless, and that the walls, flooring, cabinets, plumbing and other furnishings would have to be replaced. The cost to drug cleanup and home repair was estimated at $37,000.
Stephens was charged with first-class property damage.
