ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson says his department is pulling out all the stops in preparation for the World Series.

The Cardinals play the Boston Red Sox in the series that starts with two games in Boston on Wednesday and Thursday. After a day off on Friday, the series moves to St. Louis for games on Saturday, Sunday and—if necessary—Monday.

Dotson told KMOX Radio that police have learned a lot about securing large events since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and even more was learned after the attack at the Boston Marathon earlier this year.

Dotson says police will use video cameras, air monitors, extra officers and other measures to keep patrons at the World Series safe.

He will officially unveil the security plans during a news conference Monday afternoon.
