(KMOV.com) -- An O’Fallon, Missouri man, on probation for felony child abuse,is facing child abuse charges once again.
Thursday, 39- year-old Matthew Frame is accused of beating and choking his own son, the same victim he pleaded guilty to abusing in 2012.
Neighbors said Frame was known to have anger issues, and News 4 dug into his past court records only to find that in January of 2012, he was placed on five years probation for child abuse.
“I can tell you we’ve filed a motion to revoke that probation based on the new charges,” said St. Charles County Prosecutor Tim Lohmar.
In this latest arrest, police say that Frame wouldn’t cooperate during the investigation and made threats against law enforcement saying he wanted to “shoot police in the face.”
Frame’s history prompted questions about whether he should have received more than probation when he pled guilty to child abuse last year.
“More often than not we’re trying to preserve family unit to extent we canm” Lohmar said. “So when probation is offered in case like this more often what we’re trying to do is offer some sort of rehabilitation services, some sort of treatment to address the underlying problem and not break up the family unit.”
