(Missouri Football App) – The Missouri Tigers climbed 11 spots in the Associated Press poll after dominating the seventh-ranked Georgia Bulldogs 41-26 in Athens, Ga. on Saturday.

The Tigers started the weekend ranked 25th and ended it at 14, one spot ahead of Georgia.

It’s Missouri’s highest ranking since ending the 2010 regular season at 10-2, when they were also ranked 14th.

But during the game the Tigers lost quarterback James Franklin to a separated throwing shoulder. Pinkel refused to count him out for the regular season, but early reports indicate he may be done for the year. Franklin’s replacement is Maty Mauk, a redshirt freshman and big-time recruit coming out of high school.

The Southeastern Conference set a record Sunday for most schools in The Associated Press college football poll with eight ranked teams.
