(KMOV)—The St. Clair County State Attorney’s office charged an East St. Louis man with the death of a 35-year-old Washington Park man who was found dead inside a home early Saturday morning.

Officials have charged Ramos L. Sanders, 26, with one count of First Degree Murder for the death of Edward Austin who was found shot and killed in a home on the 2100 block of North 49th Street at 3:50 a.m.

Police arrived at the scene and a few moments later took Sanders into custody after he was found lying in a field near the scene of the crime.  

He is presiding in the St. Clair County Jail with bond set at $100,000.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the murder of Austin.
