Toys for Tots suffers donation shortage

(KMOV) – The annual Toys for Tots drive met too much demand for the organization to handle this year. Donation amounts remained the same as 2010, but the campaign took on 70,000 more requests than last year, leaving some charities racing to get presents to parents who are suffering financially.

30 local charities are trying to assist Toys for Tots, trying to make up the difference. Guide Family Life Center, a local charity group, had to turn down many requests for toy donations.

According to the Marines’ charity drive, 30 of the 181 organizations that requested help for Christmas were turned down. Below is a list of organizations which were denied this holiday season:
