(KMOV) -- Federal officials say a massive drug bust in Arizona on Tuesday has a strong connection to St. Louis.
$12 million in drugs were seized and 203 suspects were arrested in Tempe, Arizona. Federal officials said some of those drugs were headed to St. Louis, Kansas City and Chicago.
The D.E.A. said large-scale production of drugs like meth, pot and cocaine, take place south of the border and the distribution takes place in the United States.
The St. Louis D.E.A. office has taken intelligence gathered in the Tempe investigation and is conducting its own probe.
Mexican Drug Cartels are able to smuggle the drugs to the U.S. and smuggle the cash back into Mexico using the interstates.
