(KMOV)-- We were wondering how that $667-million bridge just north of downtown is coming along.
I talked to the project director, Greg Horn who says the project is on time and on budget.
The towers have risen 175 feet above the river... when finished by the end of the summer they will be 400 feet above the river. It is really something to see up close and it's getting more visible from a distance by the week.
The approaches leading to the bridge are in on both sides of the river.
Horn says after some flooding issues caused delays early in the project, workers worked longer hours to catch up. Now the towers are high enough to where flooding shouldn't effect work.
The bridge, which has yet to be named, is expected to open in January 2014.
