(KMOV) -- Many of the logos and signs have been scraped from the windows and doors of the new Shula's 347 Grill in downtown St. Louis. It opened earlier this year at the Roberts Tower Residence in Old Post Office Square.
A cook, leaving the restaurant, told a News 4 reporter off-camera that employees were told the restaurant was closing and employees were notified Thursday afternoon.
Another employee, also leaving the restaurant, said he was told the restaurant was closing temporarily and would reopen under a new name.
A call to the Shula's corporate office went unreturned on Thursday. A woman who answered the phone at the Roberts Company office declined to comment.
The two Shula's employees did say they were late receiving their paychecks. Three employees at the Roberts Mayfair Hotel told News 4 they are waiting on checks that were due last Friday.
