JUPITER, Fla. - Allen Craig will get his first start of the spring in the outfield when the Cardinals host the Detroit Tigers at 12:05 CT at Roger Dean Stadium.

Matt Adams will start at first base and hit fifth while Craig moves to right field and will bat cleanup, a move that could signal Adams is getting closer to earning a spot on the Cardinals big league roster. The Cardinals could use Adams at first and Craig in the outfield during the regular season when either Carlos Beltran or Matt Holliday need a day off.

Jaime Garcia will start for the Cardinals on the hill. He had five scoreless innings in his last start.

The complete Cardinals lineup:

Dan Descalso, 3B
Matt Carpenter, 2B
Matt Holliday, LF
Allen Craig, RF
Matt Adams 1B
Oscar Taveras, CF
Ty Wigginton, DH
Tony Cruz, C
Ronny Cedeno, SS
-
Jaime Garcia, P

Also scheduled to pitch in relief for the Cardinals include Trevor Rosenthal and Marc Rzepczynski. It will be the first appearance for the lefty since he injured his eye in a freak golfing incident last week.
