ST. LOUIS (KMOV) - A local college has been recognized for its work in the community.
St. Louis College of Pharmacy, STLCOP was recently named to the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National Community Service.
STLCOP was commended for the community service it performed over the past year including an effort to encourage people to remove potentially dangerous unneeded medication from from their home.
“Our partnership with the city of St. Louis and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration on the medication disposal initiative is the first of its kind in the country,” said STLCOP President John Pieper. “It is gratifying to see our innovative program like this be recognized by the Corporation for National and Community Service.”
