(KMOV.com) -- Authorities have released the identities of two drivers killed in a head-on collision in Godfrey on Friday afternoon.
The accident happened on Highway 67 south of Godfrey Rd. around 2:45 p.m. Investigators say Margaret Tracy, 81, was traveling northbound when her car veered into the southbound lanes, then collided with a pickup truck driven by 50-year-old James Gregory.
Both Tracy and Gregory were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
According to police, Gregory was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He died from blunt chest trauma.
An autopsy was conducted on Tracy to determine what caused her to veer into oncoming traffic. Investigators say routine toxicology tests will be performed on both victims to test for alcohol and drugs.
The accident remains under investigation by the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
Funeral arrangements for Tracy and Gregory are pending.
