ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police say a 47-year-old man attempted to get free food through a McDonald’s drive thru by showing a gun to a worker.

The suspect ordered a beverage from the McDonald’s in the 3990 block of Jeffco Boulevard on Jan. 6.  When the suspect approached the window and paid for it, he drew back his coat and showed the worker a gun and told her to give him free food.

The drive thru worker left the window and told her manager.

The suspect left and was arrested at his home a short time later.

The suspect’s weapon was recovered at the time of the arrest.
