ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- After being robbed of $50 at gunpoint after a delivery Monday night, a Papa John's delivery driver's job is in jeopardy over the same amount of money.
Ron Granberg, 22, was approached by two armed men outside of a Benton Park West apartment complex and said he will never forget having a gun pointed at him.
Despite getting away from the thieves safely, accepting a $50 bill as payment for the delivery before the robbery has Granberg in hot water.
Granberg told News 4's Jasmine Huda he is aware of the company policy that drivers cannot accept large denomination bills, but accepted it because he was excited about getting a big tip.
While Papa John's corporate headquarters did not respond to News 4's contact, Granberg is optimistic that corporate supervisors will show some leniency, considering the robbery.
