ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two people were shot in separate incidents on Natural Bridge in North City less than 12 hours apart.
The first shooting occurred Tuesday in the 5100 block of Natural Bridge at 4:10 p.m. Police say a 55-year-old man was standing at a bus stop when he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. The victim told police a stranger stopped and took him to a local hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound and listed in critical but stable condition.
A witness to the shooting told police he was traveling westbound on Natural Bridge when he saw two unknown suspects leaning out of a pickup truck, shooting at a vehicle behind them. The witness reported the rear window of his vehicle was hit by a bullet in the shooting.
Roughly 11 hours later, police responded to the area of Natural Bridge and North Grand after a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg. The victim told police he was sitting in a parked car on a side street when an unknown suspect approached him and produced a gun. The victim attempted to reach for the suspect’s gun and the gun discharged, striking the victim in the upper thigh.
According to police, the suspect is described as a black man, mid to early 20’s, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 with a thin build and dreadlocks. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Both investigations are ongoing.
