(KMOV.com) – On his last day in office, former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn commuted the sentence of a Highland woman who set her husband on fire.
Quinn reduced the sentence of Tammy Englerth from 40 years to 20 years. In 2006, Englerth pleaded guilty to first degree murder for dousing her sleeping husband with gasoline and setting him on fire.
Englerth’s defense claimed her husband had been physically abusive.
