ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Two suspects were arrested Monday after a 19-year-old woman was found nude on the side of a street in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to the side of Little Indian Creek Road around 6:00 Monday morning after a caller reported seeing the woman.

Once on the scene, deputies determined the woman had been assaulted and was suffering from exposure to the cold.

Authorities said the suspects, Crystal Gehm, 37, and Jason Kerbel, accused the victim of taking a cell phone and made the woman get into a vehicle and drove her to the conservation area near Little Indian Creek, which is south of Sullivan.  The woman told police she was assaulted with a metal baton and then forced to disrobe and get into the water. The suspects, who then fled the scene, reportedly threatened to shoot her.

The suspects were arrested for assault, armed criminal action, and kidnapping.

According to a press release Tuesday, charges are not expected to be filed against the third individual at this time.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said she had several bruises, cuts, severe frostbite and an injured or broken arm.
