Man arrested for allegedly beating woman in Applebee's parking lot

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Fairview Heights Police have a man in custody suspected of getting into an altercation with his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of an Applebee’s.

Darvin C. Crumble, 20, is charged with aggravated battery, domestic battery and resisting an officer after he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend on Saturday.

When police arrived to the scene in the 40 block of Ludwig Drive they saw a female bleeding from her nose and mouth. Police say the victim also had facial swelling beginning to develop.

The suspect, who initially refused to be handcuffed, was taken into custody.

Witnesses told police they saw Crumble punch the female victim numerous times in the face, knocking her down to the pavement.  Police say an investigation revealed the suspect had spit on the victim several times during the altercation.

The victim did not want an ambulance to treat her.

Crumble is currently being held on $40,000 bond.
