3 Injured in overnight crash on I-55

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV) -- Three people were seriously injured in an overnight crash on Interstate 55 north of Lindbergh Boulevard.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2002 Honda Accord driven by Joseph G. Dorsey, 17, St. Louis, was traveling northbound on I-55 when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier.

A portion of the barrier traveled into southbound I-55, which was struck by a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Christopher D. McCarthy, 40, Arnold. McCarthy's vehicle overturned. McCarthy was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center for serious injuries.

After Dorsey's vehicle came to a rest on northbound I-55, it was struck by a 2006 Porsche Cayenne driven by Amy Moore, 42, St. Louis. Moore was taken to St. Anthony's for minor injuries.

Two passengers in the Dorsey vehicle, Alissa D. Morris, 16, St. Louis and Brendan M. Wolf, 16, St. Louis, were taken to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Dorsey was taken to Cardinal Glennon for minor injuries.

All five people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.
