ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A 23-year-old Arnold man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for burglary and tampering charges.

Michael Mooney, 23, was charged with committing two burglarizes in the 300 block of Marilyn Drive on July 2 and 3. Authorities said Mooney stole $3,000 worth of items from one home and $250 worth of alcohol from another.

During one of the burglaries, a homeowner confronted Mooney forcing him to flee the scene. Mooney was taken into custody by police a short time later.

Mooney is also facing charges for misdemeanor stealing and fraudulent use of a credit device in Jefferson County.
