ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A St. Louis man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly robbing an 11-year-old boy at gunpoint.
According to court records, the 11-year-old walked to a parked car in the 5900 block of Ridge Avenue around 1:00 Wednesday morning to retrieve a cell phone charger when 21-year-old Kelsy Williams, Jr., came up to him, pointed a revolver at his head, and demanded he drop his belongings.
The boy dropped his cell phone and car keys and ran inside to call police, court documents say. A description of the vehicle was broadcast to police and officers were able to find the car within minutes. Officers chased the vehicle until the car hit a utility pole. It was then, according to court records, that Williams, Jr. fled the vehicle on foot.
Police used footprints in the snow to find Williams in an abandoned building, where they were able to take him into custody. Police said the robbery victim was able to identify Williams as the suspect.
Kelsy Williams, of the 900 block of Harlon Avenue, was charged with robbery, armed criminal action, stealing of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer.
