FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Instead of calling 911 when two would-be thieves arrived at her back door, 25-year-old Brittanie Kelly chased down the suspects.
"That's just my instinct, when something happens I'm going to fix it," said Kelly, a Navy veteran.
Kelly said the break-in was the second in two weeks at her Florissant home. When she heard a loud bang and saw two men standing in her doorway, Kelly and her two pit-bulls chased after the men.
The first time her house was broken into no one was home, but Kelly believes this time the men knew she was home.
"Most women, in general, we have a certain amount of crazy and when you get to a certain peak is when it really kind of kicks in," Kelly said.
The men were able to out run Kelly, but Florissant Police did arrest Stevince Combs and Marquis Gammage, who are now facing burglary charges.
Kelly argues that if she caught the men, their fate would have been worse.
"Oh, I would have went GI Jane on them," Kelly said with a laugh.
