ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Bitter cold temperatures forced dozens of schools to close but numerous schools remained open and are taking extra steps to protect their students from the dangerous temperatures.
Teachers and school officials are reminding parents to bundle-up their kids before they send them to school in below freezing temperatures.
To help the children say warm, many schools, including Parkway and Lindbergh, say they will hold recess inside during the day.
All districts News 4 contacted said they are reviewing their policies and plan to keep parents informed by using social media.
Many districts, including Rockwood, prepare buses by warming them up before they hit the road to pick up students in the morning.
