(KMOV.com) – A woman who worked at a nursing home is accused of abused an 84-year-old man she was supposed to be taking care of.
Ernestine Cobbins, 31, is accused of pushing the victim into the ground at Dolan Dementia Care Homes in St. Louis County.
The company told News 4 the employee has been fired, and released the following statement:
“This situation is very rare and unfortunate. Although we cannot comment on the specifics, the associate in question was immediately terminated and the resident is doing very well and suffers no ill effects from the incident. We screen our staff thoroughly doing extensive criminal background checks and train extensively in order to prevent these kinds of situations. The incident does not reflect the care, kindness and compassion that our staff shows to our residents on a daily basis.”
