Shots fired into south St. Louis home while family sleeps
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Six bullets were fired through the front windows of a home in the 4000 block of Miami while a family slept inside, barely missing them.
Police do not think the family was singled out and specifically targeted.
One of the daughters in the home says the family will probably try to move after the terrifying close call. The gunshots left the victims inside terrified and neighbors stunned.
"It actually kind of shocked me as quiet as our neighborhood is," said neighbor Rae Corzine.
Police say the shots were fired around 3 a.m. while the six family member were sleeping. Police raced to the scene after numerous calls.
"They were knocking on people's doors and had lights up and down the alley," said neighbor Tamara Anderson. "They had about ten police cars out here very quickly."
Police say none of the victims saw the shooters or the car they were in, so police are hoping someone living on the street may have seen a car drive by around the time of the incident and will be able to give them a description or enough information to continue their search.
