ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The St. Charles Goodwill is searching for whoever accidentally donated $1,200 in cash on Dec. 30.
An employee found the money in a clothing item while filtering through donations. Employees believe that the money was donated unknowingly between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 30.
The store announced Friday that money had been donated to the store, and as of Monday evening, they had received 13 calls inquiring about the cash.
Despite such interest in the cash, the store has yet to match the money to its rightful owner.
Employees are hoping that a surveillance photo of the car seen at their drive-thru will help them find the owner of the money. The vehicle is a white sedan and employees are interested in talking to the driver of the vehicle, who may have information on helping identify the owner of the cash.
The St. Charles Goodwill store is a 2420 West Clay Street. Anyone with information or that would like to come forward can call Goodwill at 314-982-8802.
